Let's Get Started

Notify EverBright

STEP 1

Provide Adequate Notice

We recommend contacting EverBright’s billing services team by emailing everbright@youronlineaccount.com or calling (833) 353-0583 at least 45 days before your closing date to provide adequate time to verify information, process relevant documents, receive and apply payments, complete transactions, and release confirmations. Allowing enough time for this step is essential to facilitating a smooth transfer of your solar system to your home buyer.

*We make every effort to facilitate this process within the designated time frame, provided there are no unforeseen delays.

STEP 2

Choose Your Option

  • Pay Off the remaining balance of your agreement if you have a retail installment contract, or RIC (also referred to as EverOwn), in which you own the system;
  • Prepay the remaining balance of your agreement if you have a power purchase agreement (PPA) in which you purchase the power generated by your system or a lease in which you pay to use the equipment (EverBright continues to maintain the system for the new homeowner); or
  • Transfer the agreement to the buyer who assumes the obligations and meets EverBright's credit criteria (all products).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to commonly asked questions

I’m thinking of selling my home. When should I contact EverBright?

As soon as you have a buyer and an estimated closing date, contact EverBright’s billing services team at (833) 353-0583 or everbright@youronlineaccount.com to alert us of your intent to sell your home. We recommend you notify us at least 45 days and no more than 90 days prior to your estimated closing date.

Even if you don’t have a confirmed closing date, please contact EverBright once you have a buyer and an estimated closing date. EverBright’s billing services team will provide guidance as to your next steps.

We will do our best to accommodate your urgent need to process your documents quickly. Please contact EverBright’s billing services team at (833) 353-0583 or everbright@youronlineaccount.com as soon as possible. In the event of a transfer, in addition to providing the closing date and contact information for the buyer, realtor, and title or closing agent, there are several forms that must be provided, including, but not limited to:

  • A credit application from the buyer
  • Assignment and Assumption (A&A) form

When selling your home, you have two options:

If you have a customer-owned retail installment contract (RIC), you may:

  1. Pay Off the remaining balance of your agreement and include your solar system in the sale; or
  2. Transfer the agreement to the new homeowner who must meet EverBright’s credit criteria and assume the responsibilities defined in the contract.

If you have a power purchase agreement (PPA), you may:

  1. Prepay the remaining monthly payments and transfer the use of the system to the new owner. The buyer will then use the system while EverBright continues to maintain it at no additional cost through the remainder of the agreement term; or
  2. Transfer the obligations of the agreement to the buyer who must meet EverBright’s credit criteria.

If the buyer does not meet our credit criteria, you can Pay Off your agreement if you have a customer-owned retail installment contract (RIC) or submit a Prepayment for the remainder of your power purchase agreement (PPA) and/or Lease.

PREPAY: Homeowners can make full or partial payments at any time throughout the agreement term. Prepaying a PPA in full eliminates the monthly payment obligation for the remainder of the term while EverBright continues to provide maintenance and repairs at no additional cost to the homeowner. PAY OFF: Paying off a RIC fulfills your obligations to EverBright and reduces the total interest that would have otherwise been due over the life of the agreement.

If your account is in good standing and your buyer meets EverBright’s credit criteria, you may choose to Transfer your agreement, meaning the new homeowner would assume your contractual obligations and continue to make the monthly payments after you close. This can be done for a RIC, PPA, or Lease. If you have a PPA or Lease, the homeowner will be required to pay an administrative fee via debit card, one-time ACH payment, or by sending a check. Call  EverBright at (833) 353-0583 for the amount. There is no administrative fee for RIC transfers.
