Position Description

EverBright is driving the clean energy revolution through its industry-leading solar software platform and financing marketplace. Every day, EverBright supports hundreds of residential solar installers and home improvement contractors across the U.S., ensuring they have the tools to be successful and accelerate consumer adoption of clean energy. 

The Manager of Business Development will be responsible for meeting organizational objectives by helping identify, develop, implement, and execute on market opportunities for residential solar and innovative DER solutions for NextEra. Employees in this role will serve as the key liaison between all functional business units and will own strategic, cross-functional business programs and products. This role will require a strong understanding of the solar, energy storage, and energy efficiency industries, and applying this knowledge to their day-to-day duties and responsibilities. 

  • Assist in ideation, design and implementation of new and innovative products and programs for NextEra.

  • Support market sizing, business case development, competitive analysis, and regulatory diligence to qualify new market/ product opportunities and inform go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in NextEra organizations to analyze program/project initiatives, ensure alignment with business goals and launch new market/ product opportunities to sales and to the marketplace.
  • Use analytical abilities and rigorous thinking to work cross-functionally, determine the highest priority new commercial offerings and drive those products forward.
  • Scope and create project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes.

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties

  • Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result.

  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations.
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects.
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection.
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development.
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in a wholesale power markets, distributed energy resources, and business development. Virtual power plant and residential solar experience a plus.

  • Fluency with energy sector financial models, transaction structures, and business models.

  • Strong analytical, presentation, project management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ideal candidate will bring creativity in structuring new offerings, with a passion for emerging technologies, and a strong desire to win. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years
