Position Description

NextEra Energy is facilitating the clean energy transition by providing financing options for homeowners seeking to go solar.

 

We are seeking a well-qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by building a best-in-class residential financing program. As an Credit Analyst, you will be asked to:

  • Examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan.
  • Conducts analyses and prepares reports that provide operational and/or technical support to business operations
  • Understanding and experience with credit bureau reporting
  • Collaborate with servicing system vendors to understand logic and impacts on upstream data processes
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage volume
  • Independently reviews consumer portfolio to identify risk and prevent losses due to fraud
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

Work Schedule:

Extended hours as necessary and may include weekends.

Job Overview

Employees in this role perform analytical modeling to assess and minimize the company's exposure to credit risk, negotiation of transactional documents, counterparty credit risk assessment and scoring. The successful candidate develops reliable and timely risk management solutions for a complex portfolio of credit, liquidity and contingents risks. Individuals in this role identify, analyze and mitigate current and emerging risks from the applicable portfolio. In this positon, employees are responsible for supporting the Manager of Credit Risk and are accountable for the credit and liquidity risk management of a dynamic portfolio of counterparts engaged in the North American wholesale energy markets for NextEra Energy Resources.

 

Job Duties

  •  Delivers robust fundamental credit risk analysis assessments of counterparts in a range of industry verticals including generating shadow ratings using best-in-class credit rating models
  • Proposes sensible credit limits for transactions with counterparts
    Assists in managing a portfolio of counterparts including exposure analysis, annual reviews, limit management, portfolio surveillance and derisking solutions
  • Partners with the commercial teams to negotiate transaction structures as well as master agreements
  • Works with a range of insurance companies / banks to deliver credit risk mitigation options to support business development
  • Assists with review of counterparty credit request form input, major contractor credit review, monthly interest calculations from margining activity, and monthly counterparty rating agency review
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Chartered Financial Analyst  (CFA)

Required Qualifications

  •  High School Grad / GED
  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience
