We are seeking a well-qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by providing solar companies with innovative software. This position will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers, motivating them to build high-quality, scalable, and secure software products. The ideal candidate will be just as passionate about building great teams as they are about building great software, and will constantly be looking for ways to drive engagement, quality, and improve outcomes.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be asked to:
Recruit, onboard, and manage an engineering team in our San Francisco, CA or Juno Beach, FL office
Participate in architectural design work, including writing technical specs for projects and occasionally small enhancements
Be willing to get into the code, contributing directly to core product development from time to time
Perform all duties of a direct supervisor for each team member, including resource planning, weekly one-on-ones, quarterly performance check-ins, and annual reviews
Employees in this role manage a team of experienced software developers in design, implementation, and delivery activities and is responsible for coordinating all internal and external product development. This position provides strategic direction and technical oversight to the software development team.
Directly manage cross-functional teams of engineers
Lead scoping and sprint planning within your teams
Understand, triage, and assign defects to be solved along with feature work
Identify and scope infrastructure or tooling changes to impact efficiency and/or quality
Dive into the architecture, designs, and code in order to lead your team effectively
Lead contributor and owner of the process and team structure decisions
Directly impact our ability to grow quickly while improving operational efficiencies
Defines product strategy and guides the development and enhancement of software products for internal and external customers
Develops and executes group project schedules, including prioritizing tasks and allocating resources to maximize return on investment
Works closely with the Marketing, Research and Development, and Operations groups to create and maintain production-ready software
Collaborates with the Operational Engineering team to deploy new applications to customers
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
